So there was an earthquake on Americans eastern coast yesterday. I didn't realize it until I read about it on NPR. I was wondering why my chair was swaying back and forth. At the moment I thought it was a work of crew across the street somehow.
What disturbs me about this is that this is not my most prominent memory of yesterday. What I remember most is playing Street Fighter 3 and how beautifully animated it is. It really is some of the best animation I've ever seen in my life. No, seriously!
Now that I think about it I would probably be the last person to know if there was a zombie apocalypse...

Stuff I Didn't Even Knew I Had
Yesterday when I was cleaning out some unwanted junk I stumbled upon some long lost compact discs. Compact discs that were missing for so long I almost forgot I ever have them.

no, I'm not giving this post a title you make one up your damn self!
Over the course of my life I think I've played about 300 different videogames (more or less). I've had a PlayStation 3 for for almost 3 years now and I ready own 36 games And Steam lists 132 games under my username (it's actually a little bit less than but it's still a lot).* The Sonic The Hedgehog series stands out because it's kind of my “first love”.

World of Boar-craft
Recently I watched the new cinematic intro to the new World of Warcraft out of curiosity despite quitting the game a month ago and having no interest. This piece of animation stands as a testament to blizzard's increasingly stupid writing.
It starts with this years token big-bad “Deathwing” (a well-established figure in Warcraft lore) having molten hot armor welded to his skin (also established in the lore) mentioning how angry he is. We then see some natural disasters and Deathwing mentions that he is not only angry but emo. We then see more natural disasters except this time things are breaking as Deathwing flies around. He eventually lands in Stormwind (a city from the game) and roars at the viewer because blizzard is creatively bankrupt and that's the best they can do.
And yes, blizzard is trying to get me back into wow by telling me everything will break and be destroyed. TAILS DOLL DAMMIT THE VIDEOGAME INDUSTRY IS SO STUPID!

Hello Internet I'm not dead!
I was planning on writing a review of Vanquish but instead I find myself holding my breath over the current Supreme Court case. I've already written about why this is a bad thing twice so just look for the post listed under "politics". And for those of you too lazy to read those articles Google “comics code Authority” and imagine something similar against videogames but in the form of economics and social stigma.
In slightly better news Lords of Shadow made me realize just how much I loved Castlevania. I guess this is what they mean when they say "you never know what you have until it's gone”. It left such a bitter taste with me that I found a used copy of Portrait of Ruin over the Internet. While I am enjoying it, I also feel that it will be the last Castlevania game I will enjoy for while (unless Harmony of Despair gets released for PS3). It's depressing to see such a solid action series with an immense love of classic horror movies and literature to turn into a complete God of War clone.

Sorry no new articles this week. Between writing a short story and a puppy I couldn't find time to write for this blog so here's some reading material from other writers to make up for it.

What's this?! A personal blog post!
Why yes, I'm writing about myself today instead of video games that those who know me realize that there is little difference between the two.
A local video game store closed and I was tipped off that they have the remainder of their stock sitting in a dumpster. Suspecting that perfectly good games or gaming hardware could be just thrown away I set off to a back alley mentally prepared to go dumpster diving for games (as mildly shameful it is to admit). I picked up of very faint smell of garbage as soon as I arrived. The dumpster is mostly full with rock band controllers there always for sale at store but never sold, several Play Stations and the slightly sad sight of a Sega Dreamcast. As well as the slightly ironic site of a Sega CD which belongs in a dumpster if it does not have sonic CD. The Dreamcast was labeled “defective” was then that I realized that this hardware is likely being thrown out for a reason and decided not to dirty myself poster diving for video game systems are most likely broken.
Also despite having it for nearly a week I have actually been unable to play StarCraft II. I'm not sure why but he can't log into my battle.net account and their tech support is so busy they haven't been able to help me yet. However I have been able to play the new BalzBlue but I haven't decided which character is going to be my main. And I'm still playing Persona 3 portable and I'm still playing stuff I've seen already (I'm close to getting past that).
And finally just last night I got a very dumb and tedious idea of how to squeeze more enjoyment out of the sims 3: empty out the whole neighborhood and repopulate it with a “Adam” and “Eve” sins. I think this is what will Will Wright means when he says “create your own fun”. I even found a mod that lets players control the body of portions of sins. Maxis is so fortunate to have fanned several my features that they were supposed to do themselves.

Technical difficulties
I was going to write something two days ago but coincidentally I started playing half-life 2 so I've been spending the week catching up with six years of game design instead. You can expect me to write another short essay about the half-life series in the coming days. I'm also trying to figure out how to show only the first paragraph of a post so that my front page will be dominated by my most recent writing.

this stretched Boy 1,103,666m
Well, I'm back from a long road trip. Besides my sister is graduating college the highlights were: seen in the original ruby slippers and Kermit the frog at the Smithsonian Museum of American history, eating a hamburger consisting only of beef and vegetables using no cheese or additional meet and with a side of salad(!), and warm fuzzy family togetherness.
As for the skeletons, when they saw me playing torchlight they became deeply afraid and disturbed as they watch me kill skeletons in-game. They were so petrified of this they threw themselves out my bedroom window. Now I have to clean up a mess of bones in addition to unpacking.

Technical difficulties
I'm going to do some traveling next week for a special occasion. Some relatives of mine are graduating college and they expect me to be there!
I also need to figure out a more sustainable writing schedule been procrastinating all week and crunching to get something written on the seventh day. Also skeletons have moved into my closet. They totally creep me out I can't focus on writing while there are LIVE SKELETONS in my closet! And I think it will take more than good manners to get them to leave...
